This very rare and vintage Vox AC120 model by Vox is the first one of its kind that has come through our doors in almost 17 years of business! The model was only in production for a brief 4-year period between 1974-1978 and was made to be an alternative to the popular Fender Twin Reverb at the time. The AC-120 uses four EL-34 tubes that can have a max output on 120 watts – the preamp circuits include four ECC83, two ECC81, and one ECC82 tubes. There is no rectifier tube in the AC120 as a solid-state diode bridge in the power supply provided the DC current needed to operate the amplifier. Like the Fender Twin, this combo has two channels which are labelled “normal” and “brilliant” and each have their own volume control. Under the hood we have 2 x 12″ McKenzie Forte Speakers which still work perfectly. Other key features include built-in reverb, harmonic EQ and bass + mid + treble controls. The combo has also been serviced here to ensure safety and functionality.
