In 1989 Fender introduced the Deluxe American Standard Strat, and discontinued them in 1990. This guitar was only produced for around six months, and it is estimated that only around 400 instruments were ever produced making this one we have for sale a rather rare guitar indeed. In typical Strat fashion the guitar consists of a nicely contoured alder body with a bolt-on maple neck and rosewood fingerboard and comes in Fender’s classic Brown Sunburst finish. A unique feature of this model is that it has a micro-tilt neck making small neck adjustments super easy to do on the fly. The 3 x Gold Lace sensors are great, recreating an early/vintage single coil tone that makes the Strat one of the most recognisable sounding guitar tones. Overall, the guitar is in very good condition for its age, however, there are some small marks and light scratches on the finish and is almost all original apart from the electronics and the scratchplate which has been swapped out for one which dates from1988. Other features include TBX control, chrome hardware and bone nut. Before being put on sale the guitar had a lot of restoration work done to get it back in the best playing condition and so had a fretstone and profile, new bone nut fitted, full rewire + full set up – work that would cost well over £300 to do. Also comes with an original Fender moulded hardcase.
