Famously associated with Paul McCartney and The Beatles, the Hofner 500/1 Violin bass has been one of the most easily recognisable and popular basses since the late 1950’s. This 20th/40th anniversary model is from a small run of just 400 that were made in 1995/6 and was hand built by the Karl Hofner! Generally, the overall condition of the bass is in very good condition with very minor marks on the body. The top of the guitar features a nice European flame veneer which has a classic sunburst finish with maple sides, maple neck and rosewood fingerboard. The pickups are 511B humbuckers and can be controlled via the 2 x vol pots and 3 sliding tone controls. Other features include adjustable bridge, cream binding, trapeze scratchplate and dot fingerboard inlays. Hardcase and certificate of authenticity included!
