Description
Back in 1950 Fender released the ‘Broadcaster’ – a short-lived name for what is now known as the Telecaster. For a brief spell in the 50’s after being asked by Gretsch to rename the guitar, Fender cut the name off the headstock leaving just the Fender logo hence why the guitar was given the name the ‘No Caster’ before the company settled on the Telecaster.
This 2017 Custom Shop ‘No Caster’ model in a relic butterscotch blonde finish is a perfect reincarnation of the legendary 50’s line with the added benefit of modern build quality.
The guitar features an ash body, maple neck and 21 fret lacquered maple fingerboard which is in excellent condition with little to no wear. The pickups are Fender ’51 Nocaster single coils giving you warm, vintage sounding mid-range and a bright top, sparkly top end.
Other key features include chrome ashtray bridge, bone nut and chrome hardware – and the weight is just a touch over 7 lbs. The guitar has just been through our workshop and has been set up with a fresh set of 10-46’s. Also includes tweed hardcase + case candy.
